Bridge Michigan invites readers to a free Zoom discussion from noon to 1 p.m. on July 17 about the impact of the transition to electric vehicles on jobs in the state and the health of Michigan’s environment.

Michigan has a huge stake in the global electric vehicle transition, with billions invested by the state in hopes it holds onto its automotive economy, from engineering hubs to manufacturing jobs.

EVs also promise environmental gains as climate change threatens the Great Lakes state, and potential environmental tradeoffs as a need for critical minerals drives new mining exploration in the Upper Peninsula.

Where does Michigan stand amid all the changes, including the recent slowdown in sales and adoption?

Join Bridge Michigan Executive Editor Joel Kurth for a discussion with reporters Paula Gardner and Kelly House as we explore the EV impact in our state.
