Bridge Michigan and Center for Michigan post reporter, business jobs
Bridge Michigan and The Center for Michigan are deepening investment in Michigan news and public policy coverage by posting openings for additional beat and breaking news reporters and for positions within our nonprofit business operations.
Thanks in part to our just-concluded summer crowdfunding campaign, Bridge Michigan is seeking a Capitol watchdog reporter for our Lansing bureau. This journalist will work alongside statehouse reporters Jonathan Oosting and Sergio Martínez-Beltrán, focusing on the intersection of money and politics and on the agencies that operate state government.
We also seek a statewide education reporter to help Bridge cover preschool, K-12 and higher education. This reporter will produce enterprise packages on school and policy issues across Michigan.
In addition, we are looking for two breaking news and general assignment reporters. Unlike the Capitol and education positions, which are full-time staff jobs, the breaking news posts are temporary positions that run for four-month periods over the next year.
On the business side, the nonprofit Center for Michigan — which publishes Bridge Michigan and the editorially independent BridgeDetroit — seeks a full-time fund development associate to support the organization’s fundraising operations that fuel our nonprofit journalism. We also seek a full-time institutional membership and sponsorship sales leader to help us raise revenue through deeper connections with businesses and organizations throughout Michigan.
