Fall conference agenda features three dozen state and national experts
Residents across Michigan are demanding that leaders do something to make higher education more affordable and help broaden job opportunity and advancement. The Center for Michigan is bringing together visionary leaders and thinkers for three summits open to the public.The Center for Michigan would like to cordially invite you to attend three star-studded Getting to Work Solutions Summits this fall.
These half-day policy conferences in Livonia, Grand Rapids, and Lansing will explore the findings of the Center for Michigan's newly-released public engagement report, "Getting to work: The Public’s Agenda for Career Navigation, College Affordability, and Upward Mobility in Michigan" and offer participants an opportunity to develop policy recommendations to improve the paths to prosperity for Michigan residents.

Career Navigation Solutions Summit
The Career Navigation Solutions Summit will highlight ideas for improving college and career counseling and advising in Michigan’s schools from education experts in our state and from across the nation. Speakers include Karen McPhee, Education Advisor to Governor Snyder, State Representative Amanda Price, Chair of the House Education Committee, and State Representative Adam Zemke, Minority Vice Chair of the House Education Committee. Challenges to Upward Mobility Solutions Summit
The Challenges to Upward Mobility Solutions Summit will explore ideas for improving opportunity for economic success for Michigan workers at all stages of their career. Expert panels will discuss ideas for overcoming long-term and structural unemployment, building skills throughout one’s career, and opportunities for employers to assist with talent development. This conference will feature speakers from West Michigan Talent 2025, the Michigan Talent Investment Agency and Corporation for a Skilled Workforce. College Value and Affordability Solutions Summit
The College Value and Affordability Solutions Summit will feature ideas for improving college affordability for Michigan students and families. The conference will include both state leaders and national experts, who will explore options for improving the ever-increasing costs of college and student debt loads in Michigan.
