Join Bridge and Circle of Blue to discuss Great Lakes, algae blooms

event poster

Bridge Michigan invites readers to join us from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 for a Zoom discussion about the causes and cures of toxic algae blooms in the Great Lakes.

Expansive blooms of toxic algae are harming drinking water, closing beaches and creating oxygen-deprived aquatic “dead zones” in the Great Lakes. Driven by excess amounts of nutrients washing into waterways from expanding agriculture and cities, the blooms are a growing threat to the Great Lakes region.
