  • Bridge team was joined by more than 20 participants to discuss their journey across Michigan in a Chevy Bolt
  • Panelists took dozens of questions about their experience, what was learned and how the state is prepared for a transition to EVs

Bridge Michigan’s monthly Lunch Break series returned August 1 with a free-wheeling (pun intended) discussion of the team’s EV Road Trip, which was designed to test the ease of long-distance travel in an electric vehicle.

If you missed this live Zoom event, you can stream it below.

Panelists included reporters Paula Gardner and Kelly House and digital marketing associate Asha Lewis. The discussion was moderated by membership and engagement director Amber DeLind. More than 20 participants joined the conversation in real time.

The conversation focused on how having a Chevy Bolt influenced the trip, the complications of various charging apps and levels of EV chargers, recommendations they would make to others taking a road trip in an EV, the most memorable aspects of the drive and more.

Bridge’s Lunch Break monthly series focuses on timely topics facing our state. Previous discussions have included examinations of efforts to educate students for careers in Michigan, solutions to gun violence in Michigan, the long-term impact of pollution from Michigan’s automotive industry, youth mental health in Michigan and ideas for growing the state’s population.
