Young professional groups sprout to grow Mich. connections

Traveling around Michigan is one of the pleasures of running the Center for Michigan. You get a sense of the rhythm of communities and what trends are developing.

One such positive development made the front page of the Battle Creek Enquirer this week: Young professionals banding together to find ways to build strong communities.

In our Land O Links round-up, we recently highlighted a new such group forming in Otsego County and an ongoing one in Traverse City.

Lansing also has a vibrant group, the Grand River Connection, which is co-hosting with the Center a community conversation on K-12 education on Thursday.

The conversation is part of Grand River Connection's Business Breakfast and will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 am at Michigan State University's James B. Henry Center for Executive Development. If you are in theLansing area that morning and would like to attend, please RSVP toNaomi Burton, nburton@mwadvocacy.com.

And if you are interested in having your group co-host a community conversation, visit the Center's website for details.
