LANSING —Donald Trump is returning to Michigan on Saturday for a "get out the vote rally" in Oakland County.
The former president is expected to speak at the Elite Jet Center in Waterford Township at 7 p.m., his campaign announced Monday.
Trump's planned visit comes on the first day of early voting before Michigan’s Feb. 27 primary and two weeks ahead of the Michigan GOP’s March 2 caucus convention, both of which will be used to help select the party's presidential nominee.
Trump is competing with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley after several other presidential hopefuls dropped out of the GOP race, including former Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will nonetheless still appear on Michigan’s ballot.
The Feb. 17 rally will be Trump's first in the state since September, when he attempted to woo blue-collar voters in Macomb County during last year's United Auto Workers strike.

The labor union later endorsed Democratic President Joe Biden, who is seeking re-election and returned to Michigan earlier this month to meet with UAW workers and other voters.
Biden is not expected to face serious competition in Michigan’s Democratic primary but will share the ballot with U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota and writer Marianne Williamson, who dropped out of the race last week.
Trump focused heavily on Michigan during each of his last two presidential campaigns. He won the state's general election by 10,704 votes over Hillary Clinton in 2016 but lost to Biden by 154,188 votes in 2020.
